MONITORING
WHY WE CHOSE GENELEC
Accurate, neutral reproduction gives us a clear reference for judging tonal balance, dynamics and low-frequency weight. It helps us identify masking and unwanted resonances, and assess subtle changes in EQ, compression and level. This makes it easier to understand how each adjustment affects the mix as a whole, from the quietest passages to the most demanding peaks.
In a 15.1.8 room, every loudspeaker needs to contribute to a coherent whole. We chose Genelec for tonal consistency across the system, helping preserve the character of voices, instruments and effects as they move around the listener.
THE ROOM
MEASURED. ALIGNED. LISTENED TO.
Independent room analysis and alignment by Ricardo Viñas, Senior Sound Consultant at Dolby
First reflections measured at least 25 dB below direct sound
Very good phase match between LFE and the main loudspeakers
RT60 in the lower range of recommendations for modern immersive control rooms
Individual transfer-function measurements used to time-align every loudspeaker at the mixing position
Measured frequency response after alignment at 82 dBC
ROOM ANALYSIS

A mixing room is only as good
as what it tells you.

THE ROOM WAS ANALYSED THROUGH FREQUENCY RESPONSE, PHASE COHERENCE, IMPULSE RESPONSE,
REVERBERATION TIME, SPECTROGRAM AND TRANSFER-FUNCTION MEASUREMENTS.
Impulse response measurement showing controlled first reflections
IMPULSE RESPONSE
≥ 25 dB BELOW DIRECT SOUND
First reflections are at least 25 dB lower than the direct sound, supporting clarity and spatial accuracy in a high-channel-count Atmos environment.
